Duvon™ retrofitted high-mast airport apron lighting with FAA-aware aiming and zero upward emission — a clean FAA review and IES RP-37 ramp-floor compliance.
Airport apron lighting is governed by stricter rules than almost any other outdoor application: any stray light into the runway environment, the approach path, or the control tower's line of sight is a flight-safety issue. The brief required a full retrofit that survived FAA review.
Duvon's specification used Freedom Series 500W heads on the existing high masts with project-specific upper baffles to take all upward light components to zero. Aiming was modelled in three dimensions against the airport's own runway and approach geometry, and verified during commissioning with on-stand and on-tower observers.
The commissioned apron delivers 3-fc maintained ramp-floor average, IES RP-37 compliant uniformity, zero upward emission, and instant cold-start for shoulder-season operation. The FAA review closed without conditions.
