Duvon™ replaced four courts of legacy metal-halide with a precision asymmetric LED court system tuned for residential-perimeter compliance and consistent club-level visibility.
Banbury Tennis Club approached Duvon to replace an aging metal-halide installation that delivered uneven coverage, slow restrike, and persistent complaints from neighbouring residences about light trespass. Our team executed a full luminaire-level photometric study before specifying any hardware, modelling four playing surfaces and the surrounding tree line in three dimensions to validate spill, glare, and uniformity before a single fixture was hung.
The finished install pairs Freedom 500W asymmetric heads on existing pole locations with refined aiming angles, eliminating the cross-court hot spots common to symmetrical optics. Members now play under a calibrated 50-fc average maintained illuminance across all four courts, with a uniformity ratio of 1.2:1 — well inside USTA Class II recommended practice for club competition.
Nighttime spill measurements taken at the property line confirmed sub-0.1-fc readings in every direction, satisfying the municipality's outdoor lighting bylaw without the use of external shrouds. Energy draw fell 64% versus the previous 1500W metal-halide system, and instant-on LEDs eliminated the 8-12 minute warm-up that previously stranded members at dusk.
