Basketball Court Lighting Project

Duvon™ engineered outdoor basketball court lighting with a dual-target illuminance design — 50 fc horizontal across the floor and 30 fc vertical at the rim.

Outdoor basketball asks more of a lighting system than tennis: ball travel is largely vertical, and the rim itself is the most critical visual target. A purely horizontal-illuminance design will under-light the basket every time.

Duvon's specification balances horizontal and vertical components, with Freedom 500W heads aimed to put 30-fc vertical at the rim and 50-fc horizontal across the playing surface. The optical assembly is full cut-off so adjacent residences see clean perimeter darkness.

The finished system supports recreational pickup, league play, and youth tournaments with consistent shadow control under the rim and verifiable 1.3:1 court-surface uniformity.
