Duvon™ upgraded the athletic fields at Benedictine University in Lisle, Illinois with a high-performance LED sports lighting system designed for collegiate competition and multi-sport use.
Benedictine's previous metal-halide field lighting had reached end-of-life — driver failures were running monthly, and the field rarely commissioned to its original specification. The university wanted a full replacement that would carry the programme for the next two decades.
Duvon supplied Liberty Field Series 1200W broadcast-grade heads on a comprehensively re-engineered aiming plan. The optical assemblies were modelled court-by-court (or, for football, zone-by-zone) to balance horizontal and vertical illuminance across both home and visitor benches, plus the pressure of camera-side vertical illuminance for live streaming.
Final commissioning recorded 75-fc horizontal / 100-fc vertical at the camera side, < 0.10 TLM flicker through the dimming range, and 60% reduced operating energy versus the prior fixture set. The system runs in five preset scenes — practice, JV, varsity, broadcast, and tournament.
