Duvon™ specified heritage-character court lighting with two-scene dimming, blending tournament output and dark-sky compliance under a mature canopy.
Berkeley Tennis Club sits within a heritage-character setting where any visible fixture change attracts scrutiny. The brief asked for tournament-grade visibility under strict aesthetic and dark-sky constraints, on poles that had to remain visually quiet under the existing canopy.
We matched Freedom 500W heads in a satin-black powder-coat finish to the existing pole colour, and modelled the canopy interference court by court so that no luminaire was shadowed by mature trees. The control system supports two preset scenes — "club play" at 70% output and "competition" at full output — to reduce spill on lighter-use evenings.
Members report markedly improved ball visibility against the green court colour, and the dimmed scene removes any objectionable point-source glare for spectators on the elevated viewing terrace.
