Duvon™ engineered planning-compliant club court lighting with row-specific aiming and ridge-side house-side shielding for dark-sky residents.
Claremont Club & Spa's tennis programme runs largely as member recreation and structured clinics, so the lighting target sat squarely at USTA Class II rather than tournament. The bigger constraint was visual: the courts overlook a residential ridge and the planning department had asked for a Dark-Sky-compliant solution.
ProCourt 400W luminaires were specified with house-side shielding on the ridge-facing pole row and full asymmetric throw on the opposite side. Aiming was finalised on a calm evening using a calibrated illuminance meter, and the results were sent back to planning as commissioning evidence.
Members play under 45-fc maintained light with 1.3:1 uniformity, and the night-sky readings at the ridge boundary held under 0.05 fc — better than the planning condition required.
